How To Get Coke Out Of Carpet

15 everyday things you can clean with coke

From the toilet bowl to stains in clothes

Get some cola in your house! Even if you're not a fan of the liquid gold, this soda can also be used as a cleaning agent. The high acidity in cola makes it perfect for cleaning everyday household items. We've put together a list.

1. Oil stains

Does your car or motor leak? That can lead to ugly stains on the driveway or in the garage. Hard scrubbing won't be necessary if you throw some cola on the stain. Let it sit for a few hours and mop up the oil with ease!

2. Pen marks

Whether you've gone off the paper while writing or the children have been drawing on the carpet again, we all know those annoying pen marks. Fortunately, cola can also lend a hand here. Put a little bit of the soda on the stain and rub it in. Then use some water with soap on the stain and it will disappear like soft snow in the sun.

3. Cleaning your toilet

An old but golden tip: pour half a bottle of coke in the toilet. Let it sit for an hour and then flush. Get rid of any staining with a toilet brush and voilĂ , your toilet will be spick and span.

4. Getting rid of rust

Small rusted objects can be left overnight in a glass of cola. Wipe them off with a clean cloth the next day and you'll see them shining like new. This is also good to know when cleaning your bike. Pour some cola on a rusty frame and wipe it off with ease.

5. Burnt pans

Accidentally left your meal on the stove just a little too long? This can result in gross, burnt pans. It's an impossible task getting these clean. You'll save a ton of time and energy by pouring a can of cola in the pan. Put the pan back over the fire on low heat and let it simmer for an hour. Afterwards you can wash the pan as usual and the filth will come off much more easily.

6. Moldy grout

The grout between the tiles of your bathroom and kitchen can quickly lose their color. You often see a brownish mold appear. Ideally, we'd get rid of this as quickly as possible, but scrubbing grout isn't our favorite pastime. It gets a lot easier if you rub some cola on the grout beforehand. Let it sit for a few minutes and then scrub it clean with a sturdy sponge.

7. Bolts and nuts

Do you have rusty bolts and nuts in the walls? Clean them off with a bit of cola. Rinse them off with some water and ta-da, they look as good as new.
